1. Information Collection and Use

SnailDrop is designed to minimize data collection. We do not require account registration, and we do not collect personal identifiers such as names, email addresses, or phone numbers. We collect and store only the data you explicitly choose to upload ("Drops"), including text content, uploaded files, and the assigned Unique ID.

2. Public Nature of Drops

Unless protected by a "View Password", any data uploaded to SnailDrop is inherently public. Anyone who correctly enters the Unique ID you created can access, view, and download the content. You agree not to upload highly sensitive, confidential, or personally identifiable information unless properly secured.

3. Acceptable Use and Content Restrictions

You retain all rights and responsibility for the content you upload. You agree not to use SnailDrop to upload, share, or distribute:

• Content that violates any local, state, national, or international law.
• Malware, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt or damage systems.
• Copyrighted material for which you do not have the right to distribute.
• Explicit, abusive, or harmful material.

SnailDrop reserves the right to remove any drop at any time, without notice, if it is found to violate these terms or consume disproportionate system resources.

4. Security and Passwords

If you choose to protect your drop with a password, the password is cryptographically hashed before being stored. We cannot recover lost passwords. While we take reasonable technical measures to secure our infrastructure, no system is entirely foolproof. We offer the service on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.

5. Data Retention

Drops are automatically permanently deleted according to the expiry time you select during creation (e.g., 1 hour, 24 hours, 1 month). If you select "Until manually deleted", the data remains on our servers until you delete it, or until the service operators perform periodic infrastructure cleanups for inactive drops.

6. Limitation of Liability

In no event shall SnailDrop, its operators, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (i) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the service; (ii) any conduct or content of any third party on the service; (iii) any unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.
